In its more than 40-year history, Inter Tabac, together with InterSupply, has become the world's leading trade show for the tobacco industry, making Dortmund THE industry meeting place of the year every September. A success story like that requires not only a continuous development of the trade fair concept, but also a close dialogue with all those involved. It is precisely this dialogue that has now led to the decision on the trade fair duo's schedule: From 2026 onwards, InterTabac and InterSupply will take place from Tuesday to Thursday instead of Thursday to Saturday.

Dortmund, 24 January 2025 – The change is the result of several surveys among exhibitors and visitors and of the coordination between Messe Dortmund as the organiser of InterTabac, the trade fair advisory board, the partner associations as well as representatives from the exhibitor ranks. The new sequence of days is not only intended to make it easier for the target group from the retail sector to participate. In addition, the international trade show will offer more ideal travelling conditions for exhibitors and visitors alike by being held on three working days.

‘For me, there are many factors involved in the successful development of a trade show,’ says Sabine Loos, Managing Director of the Westfalenhallen Unternehmensgruppe which owns and operates the Messe Dortmund venue. ‘It's not just the numerous innovations in the programme, in the range of exhibitors and in the events. It is also the consideration of the needs of our exhibitors and visitors. That was important to us right from the start. And we are now proving this with this change. What I can guarantee you: As usual, a varied, international programme awaits you from Tuesday to Thursday during this exciting show. Save the date: from 15 to 17 September 2026!’
