CB Expo: Europe's biggest cannabis conference with exclusive side events

29. August 2024

The Cannabis Business Expo and Conference (CB Expo) is taking place in Dortmund for the second time between 19 and 21 September 2024. Last year it was still held in the Congress Centre, but this time it will be in the immediate vicinity of InterTabac and InterSupply. The show will extend right across the entrance forecourt, while the conference will be held in the North Entrance complex. The event will feature a comprehensive conference programme on the first two days. In a series of presentations and panel discussions, experts will provide participants with in-depth insights into developments in the European cannabis industry – the perfect opportunity to discover more about this up-and-coming sector.

Dortmund, 29 August 2024 – Over 100 speakers from 30+ countries will be speaking on three stages at the CB Conference. The Main Stage, the Deep Dive Stage and the INCBA Stage will host experts discussing current topics in the cannabis industry. The content ranges from legalisation in Germany and other European countries to regulatory challenges and in-depth insights into the topics of 'medicinal cannabis' and 'cannabis cultivation'.

Cannabis legalisation in Germany

On the first day of the show, Daniel Kruse, President of the European Industrial Hemp Association (EIHA), will open the CB Conference on the Main Stage at 10:45 hrs with a keynote talk on current developments and the anticipated effects of cannabis legalisation in Germany. The ensuing panel discussions will focus on the pilot projects, for which 25 German cities have already applied, as well as the cultivation associations that have been allowed to register since 1 July. Three 'Growing Sessions' will be held on the Deep Dive Stage on Day 1. Here, researchers and representatives from prominent businesses will discuss the latest findings surrounding cannabis cultivation.

Day 2: Focus on America

Friday will have an international feel as David A. Culver, Vice President of the United States Cannabis Council, will present the current state of cannabis legalisation in the USA in his keynote talk starting at 10:30 hrs. Half of all US states have already legalised cannabis for medical and recreational use. Marketing experiences to date in the US and Canada, socio-cultural differences between Europe and the US, and new product formats are further topics that will be covered on the Main Stage on Day 2 of the show. At the same time, interested parties can delve deep into the subject of medical cannabis at the Deep Dive Stage in the 'Medical Sessions'.

Legal developments on the European cannabis market
A special highlight during the two days of the conference will be the second European Cannabis Law Conference, organised by the International Cannabis Bar Association (INCBA), where over 20 leading lawyers and legal experts from Europe and overseas will discuss the latest legal developments and challenges together with industry leaders and experts.

In addition to the extensive conference programme, CB Expo will be complemented by two exclusive side events: The CB Reception on Friday evening will provide an elegant setting for networking and informal discussions, while the CB Afterparty on Saturday evening is set to be a perfect finale.
