One highlight for aficionados will be the blending tutorial led by experienced master blender Claudio Sgroi. At the ABC TASTING entitled 'The Art of Blending', participants will learn about the work of master blenders plus interesting facts about different blends of tobacco, and visitors will be able to join exhibitors in flavour-testing the assembled cigars. There are two slots on offer, with the blending workshop being held on both Thursday and Friday between 11:30 and 13:30 hrs. The event is already fully booked. It is possible to join the waiting list via the homepage.

Boveda Inc., a manufacturer of humidification systems for humidors, will be presenting its 'Boveda Tobacco Masterclass' in Hall 7 (7.A21), with Boveda representative Benjamin Patock explaining what to look out for when storing cigars correctly. The author's 30-minute presentation will cover the properties of humidors, various humidification methods and commonly made mistakes, helping consumers learn how to preserve the quality of their cigars for as long as possible

There will also be a 'Cigar Sommelier Masterclass at InterTabac' given by the International Association of Cigar Sommeliers (IACS). This training event, which will be held each day in the Soest Room between 11:00 and 15:00 hrs, will equip participants with all the important knowledge about handling cigars – from service and tasting to pairing – and is aimed at professionals and enthusiasts alike. The training will include e-learning content for preparation, the physical event in Dortmund and material for follow-up, followed by examinations for obtaining the internationally recognised cigar sommelier certificate. Following successful completion, participants then become members of the IACS, which brings exclusive benefits. The training course costs 750 US dollars (approx. EUR 700), and registration is possible via the IACS website.
