The family of Jorge Ortiz Alvarez, Owner of Puros Santa Clara, S.A. de C.V., has been involved in the cigar making business since before the Mexican Revolution., during the XIX century, around the 1830’s. The land used for tobacco plantation is located on the San Andres Valley, called Santa Clara ranch.
– Puros Santa Clara, was officially founded on February 27th 1968 by Mr. Jorge Ortiz Alvarez.
– In 1972 Puros Santa Clara begins exporting to the USA.
