In 2024 InterTabac was again the most important meeting place for the industry. 14,500 guests recently visited the world's largest trade fair for tobacco products and smoking accessories. Around 800 exhibitors from 70 countries presented their unique range of products and services related to tobacco enjoyment. Around 94 per cent said they want to come back next year. In the Dortmund exhibition halls, some of them even presented their range for the first time to the international or European market. Innovations such as the 'International Cigar Pavilion' or the even more diverse supporting program were also well received by the visitors.
The next edition of the trade fairs will take place from September 18th to 20th, 2025- of course again in the halls of Messe Dortmund.

The thematic leadership of InterTabac as the world's leading trade fair was further expanded with lectures on current issues relating to the topics and challenges of the industry in the newly developed, innovative InterTabac supporting program.

Key offerings
InterTabac shows products that are "ready for retail" or "ready for consumption". This includes:
For the retail trade, there are also products to expand the range, such as press products and spirits, as well as shop fittings, displays and POS systems.
Warning: Misleading Listing Offers
Unfortunately, it happens again and again that exhibitors receive misleading entry offers in order to be included in so-called trade fair and exhibitor directories. Well-known companies and online directories are art-living.info, Expo Guide, International Fairs Directory, Handwerk-Markt.com, Handcraft-market.com and Construct Data Publisher. Messe Dortmund GmbH expressly states that it has no connection whatsoever with "Expo Guide", "art-living.info", "FAIR GUIDE", "International Fairs Directory", "Handwerk-Markt.com" and "Handcraft-market.com".
We expressly distance ourselves from the business practices of these companies. In most cases, these are unauthorized publishers who finance themselves through paid listings in various directories. However, they often give the impression that the offer is free of charge. It is only in the small print of the terms and conditions that the amount and duration of the payment obligation can be found - which often turns into a nasty surprise.
Entries in the official media of our events can be made via our Online Service Center (OSC). The access data for the OSC will be sent to you together with the stand confirmation by our trade fair teams on Messe Dortmund GmbH letterhead or by e-mail with the appropriate signature.

All products containing nicotine are subject to tobacco tax.
E-liquids and nicotine-free liquids are also subject to tobacco tax if they are intended for e-cigarettes. The intended purpose of the product is decisive. Even basic substances such as propylene glycol, glycerine and distilled water can be subject to tobacco tax.
Upon import, customs duty and import turnover tax must also be paid. In addition, numerous regulations apply to protect the health of the consumer, such as warnings on the packaging. Tobacco taxes are levied on all tobacco products, even if they are used as samples.
To avoid discrepancies with the authorities, here is a brief guide on how to import tobacco products into Germany. It is important that you order merchandise shipments early and on time. Imports will be rejected by customs if they do not arrive on time or without the required warnings.
